  • Melbourne to Port Douglas

    by nourishedbyearth

It’s been over two months since I moved to Port Douglas, and I still can’t believe how quickly time has flown past. I was rather hesitant to move up here at first, as Melbourne had grown on me over the past six months. But alas, if I wanted to extend my visa for another year, I had no choice but to head north and...

  • Why I Moved to Australia

    by nourishedbyearth

I still wake up some mornings and have to take a moment to acknowledge that I’m literally living on the opposite side of the planet, a long way from everything I once knew.

  • How to enjoy 24 hours in Lisbon

    by nourishedbyearth

On my way to England back in February, I had the chance to stop-over in Lisbon for a little over 24 hours, while flying with TAP Airlines. I’d never been to Portugal before, and thought it’d be a great first introduction to the vibrant country.

  • My First Couch-surfing Experience: British Columbia

    by nourishedbyearth

Last month I had the chance to couchsurf in one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever traveled to: Vancouver, B.C. Before this trip, I usually stayed in either hostels or airbnb’s while traveling. Since I was on a tighter budget this time around, my friend and I decided to try out couch-surfing, and I’m beyond glad I did! Not only did I have...

  • First Backpacking Trip Abroad: PERU!

    by nourishedbyearth

This August, I was determined to go on a trip abroad with my boyfriend to either Central or South America. I was limited on both time and money, and had only three weeks to spare. So after hours of googling, we arrived at a decision: Peru. (Scrolling through hundreds of photos of baby alpacas sold it for me). Next step was to begin planning our...

  • Roadtrip through Northern California

    by nourishedbyearth

I’ve been living in the States for almost my entire life, and hadn’t managed to pay the west coast a visit until this Spring. My friend Zazu and I had been speaking of going on a road trip to some of the west coast’s national parks together for the past few months, so when we managed to come across round trip tickets for less...

Feels good to be home after a month of roaming and adventuring through India & Sri Lanka 🏠 Had the pleasure of attending my first Indian wedding with our hosts, took a proper surf lesson, woke up on a houseboat in Kerala, took a North Indian cooking course, and met wild elephants on safari. Aside from those incredible experiences, what I learnt most came from the humble and kind acts the people I encountered along the way committed. I hope it continues to serve as a reminder for me to do more kind acts out of pure joy and to give; regardless of the situation that I’m in. Whether that be a smile, a hug, or a bit of time to genuinely listen to how someone is doing. A little gesture goes a long way.

Most memorable quote as we arrived to the Taj Mahal... “Hm, I thought it would be a lot bigger.” - Kit.

Welcomed this new year in India. The past two weeks here have been more incredible than I could’ve possibly imagined. The vibrant range of colors, constant chaos on the streets, and the warmth and hospitality of India’s people has left me eager for my next return. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the year. Now to enjoy all the smiles and sunshine in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
